Dear Slovenians, esteemed residents of Luxembourg!
On Tuesday, February 6, 2024, at 6:30 p.m we will celebrate the Slovenian Cultural Day in Dommeldange. The celebration will be dedicated to Sreฤko Kosovel, a Slovenian poet who was born 120 years ago in Seลพana, Slovenia.
We will enrich the official program with some musical and cultural contributions, followed by a short get-together. The program will be held in Slovenian and French. The Slolux association organizes the celebration in cooperation with the d'Brรฉck association. Details about the program will follow shortly.
Invite your friends and join us. With best regards,
Slolux and d'Brรฉck
Who was Sreฤko Kosovel?
Kosovel's literary production, although created in a relatively short period of his life (he died at the age of 22 in 1926), is extremely fruitful and diverse. His work is marked by a deep sense of personal and national identity. In his poetry, he often explored the themes of justice, humanity and the fight against oppression.
Despite his early death, Kosovel's influence on Slovenian literature and culture is deep and lasting. His works, which include both poetry and prose, are widely studied but not often translated. He is valued as a symbol of artistic integrity and a visionary in Slovenian literary history.
