MEDICAL OVERCHARGING FOR EU STAFF IN LUXEMBOURG: OPPORTUNITY TO SIGN PUBLIC PETITION 765 OPEN FOR SIGNATURE FROM 10TH APRIL TO 22N.D MAY 2017
Dear colleagues,

The Local Staff Committee draws your attention to the following. In Luxemburgish healthcare, EU staff is systematically charged more than people covered by the Luxembourg Caisse Nationale de Maladie (CNS). The Local Staff Committee is opposed to this practice and working to have disparities reduced. A Staff representative of the EIB took the initiative to request a public petition before the Chamber of Deputies on the price discrimination in health care of residents who are members of a non-national health insurance scheme in Luxembourg.

The petition was lodged under petition no. 765 (Petition number: 765) and has been declared valid. Staff and pensioners of EU institutions, employees of international institutions (NATO Capellen), their family members like spouses and children above 15 and any other person concerned may sign the petition between 10 April and 22 May 2017, provided they are registered in the national register of physical persons.

If there are 4,500 signatures, there will be a hearing by the Commission on Petitions and the relevant Minister in Luxembourg – which may contribute to help prevent further price discrimination in health care. Now the counter stands at 4065 signatures.

Therefore we kindly ask you and your family members to sign this petition.

Best regards,

The Bureau of the Local Staff Committee

Dear colleagues,

The petition was launched sous le no. 765 (petition number: 765).

We now have 4065 signatures.

Bien cordialement,

Le Bureau du Comité Local du Personnel
