Opening of the joint exhibition of Mirjam Oremuž "My Flowers and Waves" and Jane Zagoričnik Žičkar "Mature"

On Wednesday, March 19, 2025, at 5:30 PM will be in the lobby of the tower Rock The opening of a joint exhibition of paintings by Mirjam Oremuž "My Flowers and Waves" and Jana Zagoričnik Žičkar "Maturement" at the Court of Justice of the European Union in Luxembourg.
The exhibition will be open from March 20 to May 5, 2025.
Since the number of places for external visitors at the exhibition opening is limited, please advance registration participation to Julija Žičkar at the email address julija.oremuz@gmail.com.
If you wish to attend the exhibition later, in the days following the opening, entry to the Court of Justice of the EU will only be possible if accompanied by a person employed by the Court of Justice of the EU. In this case, please also send a message to the email address provided above.

Mirjam Oremuž – My Flowers and Waves
The exhibition of works by Mirjam Oremuž brings deep symbolism that can be associated with love for nature, admiration for flowers and the sea, and other natural beauties, and also brings us a lot of aesthetic pleasure.
In her works, she explores the beauty and complexity of nature, inspired by the famous American artist Georgia O'Keeffe and her masterful depiction of flowers and landscapes, which Mirjam tries to embody with her own motifs.
Her artworks connect the essence of nature and its regenerative power, reminding us of the importance of nature in our lives and the power that art has to connect us with our deepest feelings and thoughts.
A flower embodies freshness, fragility and energy, each flower has its own story. Likewise, the sea, with its beauty and incredible magic, gives a feeling of peace, serenity and happiness. Thus, we can admire the unique natural beauty, which is constantly changing and represents an inexhaustible artistic inspiration.
May the exhibition bring you a sense of the magic of art that unites the past and the present, nature and human creativity. May it bring you inspiration and a deep connection with nature.
Mirjam Oremuž, with a university degree in economics, began her painting journey at the painting school of the master of painting Barbara Kastelec in Ljubljana. She later attended various painting workshops with academic painters within the Šaleška Artists' Association in Velenje. She also exhibited her works at community and national exhibitions, where she received an award for her work "In the Morning Awakening".

Observing the world through one's own experiential perspective.
Life stories that are recreated in various art forms,
They open up the creator and make them vulnerable.
The external world appears different and at the same time the same through the spiritual dimension.
Looking for the new in the old is a challenge, because everything becomes an experiment that calls for more.
When the brush, paint, and the creator's thought come together at some point, the experiment succeeds.
My paintings are a reflection of inner worlds, visions, and thoughts about the world and nature.
After completing my professional career (teaching the Slovenian language), I began researching fine arts at the Šaleška Artists' Association in Velenje, where, under the guidance of academic painters, we research and spread knowledge about this branch of art. I participate in all group exhibitions and national art competitions. In 2019, I exhibited my works for the first time at a solo exhibition, and for two of my works I received the Golden Palette award.

Opinion of an academic painter
Upon entering the creative world, Jana Z. Žičkar offered us her inner feelings and strong perceptual sensibility. With all her enthusiasm and awareness, she approaches painting and creating, whether the topic is set as a starting point or not, as if it were free from the soul. She approaches the content precisely and consistently, while at the same time using her artistic language as a message to the viewer that she does not go further, does not want to, leaves him in a state of irritation and reflection. With some of her works, she has achieved perfection in a way.
Quite elaborately, with layers of colorful tones, it adds quality, consistency, and patina to the painting.
Basic artistic elements, which are processed and kneaded to compositional functionality, become everyday objects from basic shapes and colors.
All works are products strong in color expression, drawing, tone of hue, and perfection.
Even with texture that steadily catches up with or sometimes overtakes the creative process, he knows how to show just enough for the elements to play the role of conveyed meaning.
The artist's will and desire for a story painted on canvas intertwine. The message remains with the viewer, who enjoys observing her works, not just looking at them. Here she is accomplished.
Jana Z. Žičkar is faced with an infinite, open, unlimited space, where she can intervene in painting with her stroke, application, and drawing. The selection of her works in the exhibition is a collection of finished works, which is the basis for the artist's extensive confession.
