The Slolux association has been organizing various charity events for several years - many of them were aimed at treatment. This time, we are dedicating it to awareness and prevention!
Charity campaign of the Slolux association for Onkoman 2025
Society Slolux in collaboration with Onkoman, is organizing a special charity campaign this November aimed at raising awareness about prostate cancer - the most common cancer in men in Slovenia and the second leading cause of cancer death.
Prostate cancer most often affects men between the ages of 50 and 74, which means that more than 315,000 Slovenian men.
Unfortunately, many of them do not go for a check-up in time. They often decide to visit a doctor only when the disease has already advanced.
That's why this year Slolux supports Onkoman's campaign SMS to the photographer, with which they want to address the very people who mean the most to men – their children. The idea is simple:
Children (between the ages of 20 and 40) send text messages to their fathers, encouraging them to get a prostate exam.
If men don't listen to doctors, maybe they will your childrenThe SMS can contain a personal message – why it is important for dad to stay healthy: whether it is so that he can meet his grandson, continue to prepare the best Sunday lunches, or so that they can play darts together for a long time.
How can you help?
The Slolux Association is raising funds that will be entirely dedicated to carrying out this important awareness campaign.
With your help, we will enable:
- developing an online platform where children create personal SMS invitations to their fathers;
- support for the campaign in digital and outdoor media throughout Slovenia;
- co-financed additional appeals to men who will enter the Peter pilot program for early detection of prostate cancer this year.

Oncoman 2025 – for you, for me, for the father

Every November, we at Onkoman focus on men's health. This time, we're highlighting prostate cancer - the most common cancer in men and the second most common cause of cancer death. It most often affects men between the ages of 50 and 74, which means that more than 315,000 men in Slovenia are at risk.
However, many of them do not get checked out on time. They only go to the doctor when things are really bad.
But these men are not just patients. They are also fathers, grandfathers, partners, friends. And it is their children who mean the most to them.
That's why we created a special SMS fotru campaign this year. It's a campaign that encourages adult children (between the ages of approximately 20 and 40) to send an SMS to their fathers and encourage them to get their prostate checked. Because if men don't listen to doctors, they might listen - to their children.
You can text them why you still need them: so they can meet their grandchild, so they can cook the best Sunday soup for a long time, or so you can continue playing darts in the living room. A prostate exam is simple, but it can save a life.
Our campaign will be launched on a website where you can create a personalized SMS invitation for your father. It will be accompanied by television, digital channels and posters across Slovenia - all with one goal:
so that as many fathers as possible get tested and stay with us for a long time.And with the help of your support, we also want to reach out to men who will receive an invitation to the pilot screening program Peter for the first time this year, which enables early detection of prostate cancer.
Together we can do the most – for the fathers we love.

All funds raised will be donated through a donation contract. immediately after the end of the campaign transferred to the account Onkoman society.
