On Saturday, September 27, we celebrated ten years of the Slolux association in Luxembourg. For this purpose, we prepared a rich program and invited the Ambassador of the Republic of Slovenia in Brussels, Ms. Barbara Sušnik, and the State Secretary of the Office of the Government of the Republic of Slovenia for Slovenians Abroad and Worldwide, Ms. Vesna Humar, to participate.
We opened the program with a performance for the youngest, for whom Magician Toni conjured up a completely magical atmosphere.
The official part followed, during which the State Secretary and the Ambassador congratulated the Slolux team for ten years of hard work and invaluable contribution to connecting the Slovenian community in Luxembourg - both among themselves and with their homeland. State Secretary Vesna Humar then presented the president of the association, Emil Kos, with a special award on the occasion of the association's 10th anniversary.
The ceremony was continued by members of the Sanje Cultural Society from Nova Gorica, who were happy to stop by our place on their tour of Belgium and Luxembourg and, to our great delight, enriched our celebration.
We ended the gathering with plenty of laughter, which was brought about by the performance of renowned Slovenian comedian David Gorinšek.
We also used the event for official meetings and discussions about ideas and plans for the future.
On the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the association's operation, the association's management would first like to sincerely thank the Office of the Government of the Republic of Slovenia for Slovenians Abroad and Worldwide for its long-term support and co-financing. We would also like to thank the Embassy of the Republic of Slovenia in Brussels for its excellent cooperation, responsiveness and constant willingness to help the Slovenian community in Luxembourg. Special thanks go to all former members of the board of directors and the organizers and performers of events in Luxembourg.
The greatest thanks undoubtedly go to you, dear Slovenians in Luxembourg. With your presence, you confirm again and again that our contribution has value and that you want even more events and meetings.
