On Friday, January 31, 2025, we experienced a powerful and moving screening of the film Caught in the Spring – Slovenian Children of Lebensborn at the Utopia Cinema. The almost full hall was first addressed by Mateja Blaj from the Slovenian Embassy in Brussels, and then we experienced together a story that left no one indifferent.
The film was followed by an open discussion, where we spoke with director Maja Weiss, co-author and screenwriter Nataša Konc Lorenzutti about the making of the film and about the sad stories of war – topics that are difficult, but necessary to talk about. The audience showed sincere interest and concern for these stories with numerous questions.
