The Slovenian Society in Luxembourg was founded at the founding assembly in Luxembourg on June 18, 2015. The framework program of the society and ideas for activities were born even before the assembly. Since the assembly, we have been actively working on the program and preparations for its implementation.
A closer look at what is happening in the Slovenian community in Luxembourg shows that it is more active than it seems from afar. There is a lot going on, but information circulates only in narrow circles - such as exhibition by Mrs. Simone Šuc. The projects and activities that are currently underway therefore have only a small reach, but great potential and even greater value for our community. At the same time, the initiators and organizers are working hard for success, which would certainly be easier to achieve if the projects came together. And from this initiative, NAŠE, the Slovenian Society in Luxembourg, was born.
The purpose of the association is to connect the Slovenian community in Luxembourg, preserve national consciousness and culture, help raise children of Slovenian parents to be Slovenians, maintain contacts with the homeland, and act as a unified voice of Slovenians in Luxembourg towards other national communities, other Slovenian communities, the economy and politics in Slovenia, and the media in Luxembourg, Slovenia, and around the world.
We can be connected. search for funds and sponsors in a unified manner, convince business partners more easily, have a stronger voice in tenders, share information with each other and help each other.
We invite everyone. Without exception. Our goal is to connect all Slovenians living in Luxembourg. If there is nothing going on that interests you — suggest it. You can even join and organize. »Small step for you might mean a giant leap for the community.«
The program is updated daily.You will be informed about it through the news, in the events calendar and on the pages in the "Activities" tab. Many discussions are currently underway with various stakeholders, and information will be available as soon as possible.
Take advantage of our website. What's more, help develop it. Since we decided to invest the initial funds in the first projects rather than in the website, the site is amateurish — but still functional. Use the forums, news, project pages, event calendar; many things are still in the works (such as a classifieds portal). Suggest corrections and changes — we will do our best. We want the site www.slolux.eu to become the information center of our community. FB and LinkedIn do not connect everyone who makes up the Slovenian community in Luxembourg.
Join us. We shape the community actively, so there is no doubt that our community will be a reflection of our activities. Do you want more sports? Culture? Social gatherings? Would you like the gatherings to be organized more professionally? Maybe you know something we don't, but you should? Are you good at writing news or articles? In the end another invitation to projects. If you are organizing an activity that also concerns the Slovenian community in Luxembourg in any way, come under the auspices of the association. We can offer you an organizational structure (official entity, transaction account, possibility of booking premises through the organization, etc.). We will apply for tenders together, you can also get a certain part of the funds for the project from the association budget. Take advantage of existing agreements with business partners and reduce the costs of the project. Take advantage of the community and increase the visibility of your project. The decision is of course yours.
